The personality of the Spark is very impressive and those looking for easy city traffic will be happy. The four-cylinder pair of 98 hp with a standard five-speed manual or an optional CVT. The contraction also reduces the inner dimensions a bit. The second row is the one that loses the most, with a volume that decreases from three cubic feet to 35. The most important factor is the loss of 2.2 inches of leg space. The front seat shrinks from 49 cubic feet to 48, a change that hardly shows. The load volume with the seats remains at 11 cubes, but the total folding of the seats decreases by four cubic meters to 27 cubic meters.

Chevrolet states that the new monoblack is stiffer than its predecessor and that it allows a better customization of the chassis. The quality of the ride has improved a lot and the body movements are well muted, with rare additional vibrations of the front strut or the rear suspension with torsion bar. The brakes, like the chassis, were sturdy, not with full braking power: the 177-foot stop at 70 mph is just adequate and no better than the last Spark, but in fade resistance if repeated use.

Bleed the gas and all four are running at a maximum power of 6200 rpm. Stay 10.8 seconds and you will make 60 mph, which is surprisingly only faster than the 11.0 seconds we recorded for a Spark 2014.
